
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A teacher in the western Alaska village of Akiachak was arrested Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a juvenile.
Troopers received the report Saturday afternoon, and after further investigation, troopers say that 48-year-old Akiachak resident John Hammonds had sexually abused a juvenile in August.
Hammonds was arrested without incident and remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center on four counts of alleged sexual abuse of a minor on the first degree and four counts of alleged sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.
