Hockey Games Cancelled

    JDHS hockey players are shown in action at Treadwell Arena against Kodiak this season. Tonight and Saturday's games against Palmer have been cancelled due to a COVID outbreak at Palmer.

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The puck drops here. Just not tonight, or Saturday. The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears hockey games scheduled against Railbelt Conference rival Palmer tonight and tomorrow at Treadwell Arena have been cancelled due to a spike of COVID cases in Palmer.

      According to coaches and athletic directors the Palmer Moose will not be arriving in Juneau and the games may be rescheduled. The Crimson Bears are, so far, still scheduled to play Aurora Conference foe Tri-Valley on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Treadwell Arena.

      Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears boys basketball team finished eighth in the Alaska Airlines Classic, losing to the Colony High School Knights 64-43 at West Anchorage on Saturday in the seventh-place game.

      Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Friday night lights shone bright on the Thunder Mountain High School gym as the Falcons girls flirted with a victory against Colony but fell 60-52; the Falcons boys defeated Nikiski 68-42 at Barrow; and the Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé boys fell to Lathrop 58-53 at the Alaska Airlines Classic in Anchorage.
