Juneau woman cited after alleging false kidnapping report

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau police have cited a woman in connection with filing a false police report of kidnapping.

    On May 25 at around 3:15 p.m., a 21-year-old woman told her employer that she had just avoided being taken and forced into a blue 4-door Chevrolet truck by men she did not know.

    Juneau Police Department officers responded to the 9100 block of Glacier Highway and began an investigation. It was determined that the woman was not contacted by anyone in the manner she had reported.

    On May 26 at around 11 a.m., Ashley Gonzales was cited for filing a false police report and released.

    According to JPD, there was no disturbance and there had been no attempt to kidnap Gonzales.
