
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau residents 65 years old and over will be given the opportunity to sign up early for the March 12th and 13th COVID-19 vaccination event put on by the City and Borough of Juneau.
This early sign-up period will be between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. this Wednesday, Feb. 24, and will be through the COVID-19 hotline at 586-6000.
Appointments for other eligible groups will open at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25. The city encourages this second group to sign up online at juneau.org/vaccine, but those without internet can call 586-6000. For more information on eligibility, visit juneau.org/vaccine. Individuals that are 65 and up can still register during the general sign-up on Thursday.
According to the state Department of Health and Social Services, an estimated 77% of adults 65+ in Juneau have gotten at least one dose of a vaccine as of Monday.
