Ketchikan cases remain at 13

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - There have been 102 people tested for COVID-19 in Ketchikan with the results still pending in 35 cases.

    The community has complied with mandates not to travel to other communities and obeyed a statewide shelter in place and social distancing requirements.

    The objectives of the COVID-19 Unified Command remains to safeguard the health and safety of personnel and the public, slow or stop the spread of COVID-19, increase the testing capacity for the virus, care for the sick, provide public information and mitigate the community and economic impacts.

    Peace Health has a 9-bed COVID-19 unit with the ability to add approximately 50 additional beds for moderate COVID- 19 patients by repurposing other areas of the hospital.
