Juneau’s food highlighted by national travel website

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Juneau’s food fare grabbed national attention in a TripAdvisor article entitled “7 Small Cities and Towns in the US with Big-Time Food Scenes.”

The article’s introduction says, “Each of the 7 destinations below packs a dynamic food scene within a less-populated place. From to-die-for king crab in Alaska to Ethiopian food in New York, you can find mouthwatering variety and cuisines in the towns…”

Juneau shared the favorable exposure with Charlottesville, Virginia; Mystic, Connecticut; Ithaca, New York; Park City, Utah; Traverse City, Michigan; and Aspen, Colorado.

The write up on Juneau stated, “Because of its ideal location between the base of Mount Juneau and the Gastineau Channel, the Southeastern Alaskan city of Juneau has been the home of Native American fisherman, European fur traders, and American gold prospectors.  Now a free-spirited state capital, Juneau is the perfect base for a journey into the gorgeous Alaska wilderness, whether it’s for fishing, kayaking, and dog sledding in the National Parks, to whale-watching at Icy Strait, or glacier hiking at the Juneau Icefield.”
